Lunaria from the Latin luna for moon. The plant Lunaria is commonly called the Honesty Plant, the Money Plant or the Dollar Plant. The fruit is a silique [se leek'], a pod with two chambers. Honesty’s silique is round, papery and transparent. This transparency is the source of the name Honesty.
It is a low maintenance plant which is easy to grow and experiences few problems. A hardy biennial which grows to a height of about 60cm. It can be grown from seed. For best results and successful growth sow seeds early in the year. Our name is derived from the values of honesty, transparency as well as the decorative nature of Lunaria’s silique.
